How to Be Thankful Every Day

I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving spent with lots of friends, family, & food! I spent the day with my loved ones & had the best time! Since I’m in college, it was nice to take a break & come home. It’s extrmemly hard to find ways to be thankful in every situation. It is the easiest on Thanksgiving, but we tend to stray away from thanking Him in the simplest of moments. I struggle with thanking Him in every situation – good or bad. Being thankful everyday is a mindset. You have to wake up every morning & go to bed every night with a grateful heart. I have started to journal at night & I write down 5 things that I am thankful for. This helps keep my mind on all the positives happening in my life instead of focusing on the negatives. Focusing on the negatives is very easy. It is human nature to think about the bad over the good, but you have to change your mindset to think in a positive light. We have so much to be thankful for!!

Being thankful on Thanksgiving is easy, but being thankful everyday is a challenge. I challenge you to start thanking God for 5 things each night. You will be amazed how much better you will feel when you focus on the positives The Lord has given you! When I start to thank Him I realize the things I take for granted. For example, my health is something I never thank Him for, but something that is so important to me. By having a grateful heart you will come to see God’s works more often in everyday life.
